    BAY VILLAGE, Ohio

    Theft: Edinborough Road

    On Aug. 18, a resident reported a burglary and a stolen car. The resident said that someone had entered the home through an open garage door and an unlocked interior door. The suspect then took a purse, a wallet and the keys to both cars parked in the garage. The suspect used the keys to steal the victim’s Volvo out of the garage.

    Theft: Huntmere Drive

    On Aug. 18, a resident reported her Dodge Journey stolen out of the driveway during the overnight hours. The woman said the Journey had been left unlocked with the key fob inside. In addition, numerous items of value were also left inside the car, including two laptops, luggage and other personal items.

    Drunken driving: Bassett Road

    On Aug. 20, officers received a call from Westlake police regarding a possible intoxicated driver entering the city. Officers were in the area and quickly found the car.

    The driver was committing several moving traffic violations. Officers stopped the car on Wolf Road near Bay Village High School and spoke with the 44-year-old Westlake resident who was driving. The driver appeared to be under the influence. The man failed field sobriety tests and was arrested.
