NEWARK — The familiar name of Angeletti Overheard Door is gone, but residents will find Central Ohio Garage Door at the same location and may see a familiar face or two at the Anthony Drive business.
Brian and Amber Cramer moved their Central Ohio Garage Door business from Columbus to Newark in March, just in time for the coronavirus shutdown.
The business, which the Cramers purchased five years ago, finally opened in north Newark, near Red Eye Express on Mount Vernon Road, on May 18. The couple grew up here and lived here while operating the business on the west side of Columbus.
“We decided to move the first of the year,” Amber Cramer said. “It was always a goal to bring it here. We’re trying to get the word out about us. We’re a good family-owned business.”
The business sells and repairs garage doors, openers, parts and hinges, and also has doors in stock for those who want to install it themselves.
“We didn’t have over-the-counter sales and a showroom in Columbus, so that’s really nice, interacting with the community,” Amber Cramer said.
Terry Angeletti, who owned Angeletti Overhead Door for 30 years, retired in 2013, and sold the business. The new owner closed the business this year, which provided the Cramers an opportunity to move their business back to their hometown.
Angeletti had been the local representative for Clopay doors, but when the business closed, it opened a door for the Cramers.
