NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio — When it comes to tasty frozen treats, Bruster’s Real Ice Cream’s tagline is “A Scoop Above The Rest.”
Come this spring, North Olmsted residents will get a chance to find out for themselves when the franchise opens at a former Firehouse Subs located at 27048 Lorain Road.
Tiger Najjar grew up in North Olmsted and now — along with his business partner and childhood friend Dr. Ramez Assad — is proud to bring the artisan ice cream store to the city.
“I have five children that all attend North Olmsted Schools and all participate in community activities,” said Najjar, a 1996 North Olmsted High School graduate who also owns and operates a Mobil Gas Station in Strongsville.
“I’ve witnessed the community grow over the years, and love living here. It’s home. This is why I’m excited to open this business in my hometown,” he said.
The roughly 3,000-square-foot building is currently under renovation. When finished, the store will have inside seating, patio tables and benches, as well as roll-up garage doors. There also will be a drive-thru for ice cream lovers on the run.
“We thought it would be a great location,” said Westlake resident Assad, who owns a dental practice in Elyria. “There’s no real major ice cream in North Olmsted. This is premium ice cream.
“Bruster’s Ice Cream is part owners of a dairy farm. They’re able to get very fresh dairy delivered to the franchisee as often as we need it.
