Baby ducks stolen
A Butcher Road resident reported to Salem Township police Monday someone overnight had stolen 11 baby ducks from her property. A neighbor reported seeing a woman in a red van parked near the pond and walk around a gate to possibly take the ducks. The same van was seen Sunday evening near the ducks. Anyone with information regarding the ducks or the woman in the van is asked to contact Constable Dan Valentine at 330-427-0808.
— Deputies were called to Metz Road at 9:18 a.m. Sunday where a barking dog has reportedly become a nuisance in the neighborhood. Deputies told the owner there is a barking dog ordinance in Fairfield Township and if the problem is not corrected, they will be cited.
— While checking businesses, deputies found a vehicle parked on the apron in front of a garage door at Witmer/Ohio Ag on Salem-Unity Road, Salem, at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies found a door was also not closed all the way and was unlocked. No one was found inside. Doors and windows were secured, but deputies were unable to make contact with the person listed as keyholder.
— Brendon M. Carr, 25, Wellsville, was cited with failure to control, OVI and possession of marijuana at 11:47 p.m. April 20. Carr was traveling on state Route 7 in St. Clair Township when he drove off the road, striking a ditch and sign before overturning. Carr sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
